Last year, this year

Left is the chandelier in the dining room being decorated by Daniel with little tiny Easter Egg decorations.

Below is the same task, one year later. I can see how much he has grown.

Although I so enjoy the projects we do during the Holidays throughout the year, today I wonder how many more I will have to share with him before he tires of that childish task and wants to play with kids instead of me.

I am not diminishing the joy I have today, just being a little sad about how many more there will be.

Perhaps, when he is grown and has a family of his own, he will help his own family decorate. Recalling memories of times shared with "Nana".

...and tha'ts the truth!

Women are Angels

And when someone breaks our wings....
We simply continue to fly.........on a broomstick..

We’re flexible like that.

The Church Cake!

Alice was to bake a cake for the church ladies' group bake sale, but she forgot to do it until the last minute. She baked an angel food cake. However, when she took it from the oven, she discovered the center had dropped flat.

She said, "Oh dear, there's no time to bake another cake." So, she looked around the house for something to build up the center of the cake. Alice found it in the bathroom ... a roll of toilet paper. She plunked it in the center of the cake and covered it with icing and decorations.

The finished product looked beautiful, so she rushed it to the church.

Before she left the house, Alice gave her daughter some money and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the minute it opened, and to buy that cake and bring it home. Unfortunately, when the daughter arrived at the sale, the attractive looking cake had already been sold.Alice was beside herself.

The next day, Alice was invited to a friend's home where two tables of bridge were to be played that afternoon. After the game, a fancy lunch was served, and to top it off, the cake in question was presented for dessert. When Alice saw the cake, she started to get out of her chair to rush and tell the hostess all about it. However, before she could get to her feet, one of the other ladies said, "What a beautiful cake!"

Alice could only sit back in her chair and watch, when she heard the hostess (who was a prominent church member) say:

"Thank you, I baked it myself."

Quality time in the kitchen

What would you want to do on a Sunday Afternoon?

If you had time to spend with a little boy, this would be
a Great Plan!
Let's make some cupcakes!
Wall-E (Pixar/Disney) decor
will work just fine.
What a great little helper I have!
I am truly blessed!

A Heartwarming story

One afternoon a lawyer was riding in his limousine when he saw two men along the road- side eating grass.Disturbed, he ordered his driver to stop and he got out to investigate. He asked one man, "Why are you eating grass?"
"We don't have any money for food," the poor man replied. "We have to eat grass." "Well, then, you can come with me to my house and I'll feed you," the lawyer said. "But sir, I have a wife and two children with me. They are over there, under that tree." "Bring them along," the lawyer replied. Turning to the other poor man he stated, "You come with us, also." The second man, in a pitiful voice, then said, "But sir, I also have a wife and six children with me!" "Bring them all, as well," the lawyer answered.

They all entered the car, which was no easy task, even for a car as large as the limousine was. Once underway, one of the poor fellows turned to the lawyer and said, "Sir, you are too kind." "Thank you for taking all of us with you." The lawyer replied, "Glad to do it.” "You'll really love my place.

"The grass is almost a foot high".

Build a Bear

This is the icarly purple bear. The bear is from a TV show (I have never seen it myself). Anyway...Daniel visited the Build a Bear Workshop at the mall this week with his parents. Did he choose an aligator? A giraffe? A dinosaur? No, he chose the icarly purple bear! "Are you sure that is the one you want" asked his parents. "Yes" said he. Over and over again the question was posed to Daniel by his parents.
He would not budge. This was the bear he chose. He also chose a pink outfit, blonde wig and silver flip-flop shoes with faux rhinestones. When Daniel was asked one more time "Is this the one you want"? Daniel replied. "Yes" and you are hurting my feelings by asking me again"!
Enough already!
He chose her clothes, her makeup and accessories and signed her birth certificate with her new name as "Pretty Bear" and she is indeed pretty.
On the drive home, Daniel was overheard in the back seat telling "Pretty" about his
best toy at home, "Fat Pony" who is an overstuffed soft and cushy pillow like friend that
he sleeps with. He told "Pretty" that she would really like "Fat Pony" and that they all would
be friends.
When the question was finally asked why Daniel chose "Pretty Bear" to be his new friend he declared "because I like girls"!
So there!
Next morning he wanted to take "Pretty" to preschool but was only allowed to take her on the ride there, not actually into school.
He later was overheard saying "I have a new sister"!

My version of wealthy!

The last remnants of my latest commission check were spent frivously on what is shown above!
My new kitchen island with countertop overhang for eating space for five or six people!
I can hardly stand it! It is so beautiful and so, so efficient! I love it, and I have already made six batches of dough on it. Nathan and I visited the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Medina and purchased the island (used) which already had a counter top, and but we also purchased this larger counter top and Nathan attached it right over the original top. It is the perfect height for me to prepare food. The stools on the right side came from Target, and the one on the left came from my friend Joanne Dushenke, from her house in Millersburg.
One of the signs of Wealth is a full freezer, a full refrigerator, and a full pantry!
Ain't it purty?

I thought so!

An Irishman goes into the confessional box after years of being away from the Church.

There's a fully equipped bar with Guinness on tap. On the other wall is a dazzling array of the finest cigars and chocolates.

Then the priest comes in.
"Father, forgive me, for it's been a very long time since I've been to confession, but I must first admit that the confessional box is much more inviting than it used to be.
"The priest replies: "Get out. You're on my side."

And yet another lost visitor!

I could not believe my eyes yesterday afternoon! I was walking down the driveway and lo and behold, six Canadian Geese were walking across the driveway too!
They must have a faulty GPS! Not a sign of any water in our front yard. Yes, the pond is still there, but it is totally covered in snow!
These three families are surely scouts for the rest of the southern flock!
Maybe they know something that we don't know!

Guess Who!

Guess who I saw yesterday!
You got it..I saw the very first Robin of the season.
Dare I hope?
You bet your bird I do!
